With the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, almost all of the major sporting events were either cancelled or postponed. But 2021 has brought new hope for the sporting world as sports events are now being conducted across various parts of the globe.

Here are all the major global sporting events that are scheduled to be conducted in March 2021.

Table Tennis – WTT Middle East Hub, Qatar, Goa

Doha, Qatar will see some of the star players in table tennis as part of the WTT Middle East Hub, which will be conducted between 3 – 13 March 2021 at Luisal Sports Arena.

There will be two tiers in the Middle East Hub as part of the new WTT event structure. The 2021 calendar will start with WTT Contender Doha and it will be followed by the first WTT Star Contender event the following week.

The Contender event of the World Table Tennis will feature a singles main draw of 32 players per gender and there will be 16-pair doubles per gender and in the mixed doubles. As for the qualifying draw, there will be 96 players per gender in the singles and 32 pairs in the mixed doubles. The qualifying draw for the same will be held between 28 February – 2 March 2021, with the main draw taking place between 3 March – 6 March 2021.

The WTT Star Contender event will see singles’ main draw of 48 players per gender and 16-pair doubles per gender and in the mixed doubles. As for the qualifying round, there will be 64 players per gender in the singles and 32 pairs in the mixed doubles.

Field Hockey – Asian Champions Trophy, Bangladesh, Dhaka

The Asian Champions Trophy will be held between March 11th to 19th in Dhaka Bangladesh. The eight-day tournament will feature Asia’s top men’s national hockey teams.

India, the winners of the 2011, 2012, and 2018 Asian Champions Trophies, will use the tournament as a platform to test their preparedness ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. The tournament opener will see India locking horns with Japan at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium, Dhaka.

In the marquee clash of the event, India will face Pakistan on March 13. Host Bangladesh will make their first appearance in the tournament, while India, Japan, Malaysia, and Pakistan have competed in every edition. South Korea will make their fourth appearance this year.

Badminton – All England Open, England, Birmingham

All England Open 2021 is set to return to Birmingham from Wednesday 17th March to Sunday 21st March 2021. With 155 matches and 50 hours of live badminton to enjoy, the 2021 YONEX All England will feature five days of world-class badminton action.

After opening on 17th March, the play will go directly into the main draw as there will be no qualification round. Also, there will be double sessions on Friday and Saturday, giving badminton fans the chance to get fully engrossed in the betting action.

Badminton – Malaysian Open, Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur

Celcom Axiata Malaysia Open 2021 will commence at the end of March 2021. The first match of the badminton tournament will be played on 31st March and the finals game will be held on 04th April.

The venue for the Malaysian sport event is Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event features prize money of $750,000.
