Aakash Chopra along with Michael Vaughan criticized Pakistan after their shocking Test defeat to Bangladesh.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra and ex-England captain Michael Vaughan harshly criticized the Pakistan cricket team following their crushing defeat to Bangladesh in the opening Test of their two-match series. The match, held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, saw Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, fall to Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side in a shocking loss.

Initially, the Test seemed destined for a draw, but on the final day, Bangladesh’s spinners turned the game around, securing a vital victory and boosting their standing in the ICC World Test Championship Points Table.

After Pakistan opted to bat first, they quickly found themselves in trouble, losing three wickets for just 16 runs. However, Saud Shakeel (141) and Mohammad Rizwan (171) stabilized the innings, pushing Pakistan to a strong total of 448/6 declared. Despite this, Pakistan’s bowlers struggled, unable to make inroads against the Bangladeshi batsmen. Mushfiqur Rahim led the charge with an impressive 191 runs, supported by Shadman Islam’s 93 and Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s 77, helping Bangladesh post 565 runs and take a significant lead.

In their second innings, Pakistan faltered badly, collapsing to just 146 all out. Bangladesh then chased down the modest target of 30 runs with ease, winning the match by 10 wickets.

Aakash Chopra took to his official X handle to mock Pakistan, highlighting the rarity of a team losing after declaring with over 400 runs on the board and still having wickets in hand. He remarked, “Not many teams go on to lose a Test match after declaring their first innings with 400+ runs and 4 wickets to spare. At home. Pakistan cricket is a gift that keeps giving.”

Michael Vaughan also criticized the Pakistan team, commenting on their current disarray, while applauding Bangladesh’s high-quality performance. He tweeted, “What a great win for Bangladesh .. !! High-quality performance .. Pakistan really is in a mess .. #PAKvBAN.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan dropped to the No. 8 position with a PCT of 30.56. The India National Cricket Team leads the table with a PCT of 68.52, followed by Australia at 62.50.
