IPL 2025: Aakash Chopra Predicts 100% Playoff Spot for RCB with Delhi Win

Aakash Chopra believes RCB will definitely qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs if they defeat Delhi Capitals in their upcoming match.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made a strong start to their IPL 2025 campaign with three wins from four matches. They opened with wins over Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings before a home loss to Gujarat Titans. However, RCB bounced back with a 12-run win over Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring game at the Wankhede on April 7. With six points, they currently sit third in the IPL standings.

On April 10, they will host Delhi Capitals. Delhi remains unbeaten this season under Axar Patel’s leadership. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra has backed RCB to qualify for the playoffs if they beat Delhi. He believes this match could be a turning point for the Bengaluru side. Rajat Patidar, leading the team this year, has impressed so far.

“Agar ye wala match jeet jaate hai, jo ki jeet sakte hai, agar vo aaj jeet jaate hai toh mai aapko likhit mein de sakta hu ki qualify toh 100 per cent karenge. 100 per cent qualification hai agar yaha par Delhi ko rok diya toh they are through (If they can manage to win this match, which they can. If they win today, then I can give you in writing that they will 100 per cent qualify for the playoffs. There is a 100 per cent qualification; if RCB stops Delhi here, then they are through),” Chopra said on the Star Sports show.

“RCB ghar se bahar lagatar teen mukabale jeeti hai, aur ye agar jeet jaate hai… Kyuki ghar par naa apko 4-5 he jeetne hote hai; 5 agar jeet jao – teen bahar aap already jeet chuke ho – 16 points, you are through. So there’s plenty to watch (RCB have won three matches continuously outside home, and if they win this one… Because at home you only have to win 4-5 games; if you win 5 – and you have already won three – with 16 points, you are through. So, there’s plenty to watch),” he added.

With only four or five home wins typically needed to qualify, RCB look well on track, having already secured six points. A total of 16 points is often enough to reach the knockout stage. Delhi Capitals have also started strong, defeating Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and CSK.
