After his explosive innings of 37 runs off 12 balls led SRH to victory against CSK, Abhishek Sharma attributed his success to the guidance of his dad, Yuvi Paaji, and Brian Lara.
In an impressive display of talent, Abhishek Sharma shined as the standout performer in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s victory over Chennai Super Kings. Abhishek’s explosive innings of 37 runs off just 12 balls took SRH to a commanding 78 runs in the powerplay while chasing a target of 166 runs.
His aggressive batting set the tone, with 3 fours and 4 sixes, before Travis Head and Aiden Markram continued the onslaught. Heinrich Klassen and Nitish Reddy easily sealed the match, clinching the win with 6 wickets in hand.
At the post-match presentation, Abhishek credited hard work and thanked his father, along with cricketing legends Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara, for their influence. His off-season training with Yuvraj Singh has proven invaluable, as evidenced by his recent performances.
“Big scores do matter (individual scores), but I went with the flow today. Special thanks to Yuvi Paaji, Brian Lara, and my dad for this,” he stated.
Abhishek also attributed his team’s success to their strategy of attacking in the powerplay overs, capitalizing on the slow wicket.
“In the bowling, we felt it’s a bit slow wicket. We knew if we take the powerplay on, we could go with the flow after that. We had a chance to prepare well before this IPL,” he added.
His explosive 37-run innings have propelled him into the top 5 contenders for this year’s Orange Cap, with a total of 161 runs in just 4 innings.
