Jasprit Bumrah has reportedly told the selectors he is fit and ready to play in the Asia Cup.
The All India Men’s Senior Selection Committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, will meet on August 19 to finalise India’s 15-member squad for the Asia Cup. Jasprit Bumrah has reportedly already confirmed his participation in the tournament, starting September 9.
“Bumrah has informed the selectors that he will be available for the Asia Cup selection. The selection committee will meet and discuss it when they meet next week,” The Indian Express quoted a source as saying.
India open their campaign against the UAE on September 10, followed by the high-profile clash against Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai. Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman, while Group B features Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong.

Notably, Bumrah, currently ranked No.1 in Tests, featured in all five matches of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia but suffered a back spasm during the final Test in Sydney. The injury kept him out of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which India went on to win. He also missed the opening fixtures of IPL 2025 for Mumbai Indians before returning mid-season. Bumrah has also faced criticism recently for skipping parts of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy but remains central to India’s plans.
