The tournament features five full members, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, alongside UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman are in Group A, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
Although India is the official host, matches will take place at neutral venues under a three-year arrangement with Pakistan. India start their campaign against UAE on September 10, followed by a key clash with Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai, and a group match against Oman on September 19 in Abu Dhabi. The Super 4 stage runs from September 20 to 26, with the final scheduled for September 28 in Dubai. India’s 15-member squad will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, with Shubman Gill as vice-captain.

Agarkar Explains Jaiswal and Iyer’s Omission
Yashasvi Jaiswal has missed out on selection for the Asia Cup 2025 despite strong recent form, with competition for the opening slot proving too stiff. Abhishek Sharma’s batting and ability to bowl tilted the balance in his favour, leaving limited space at the top.
“It’s very unfortunate for Yashasvi Jaiswal, with Abhishek doing well, he can bowl as well – one of the two was going to miss out – same with Shreyas, not his fault. No fault of Shreyas Iyer. With respect to Shreyas Iyer, Got to tell me who he can replace? At the moment, will have to wait for his chance,” said Ajit Agarkar.
