Virender Sehwag believes Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Varun Chakravarthy will be India’s main game-changers in the Asia Cup 2025.
Virender Sehwag has backed India to win the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE next month. The 15-member squad, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, begins its campaign against UAE on September 10.
Sehwag highlighted three players he believes can change games for India. Jasprit Bumrah returns to T20Is after last year’s World Cup final. Young opener Abhishek Sharma, known for his attacking batting, adds power at the top. Varun Chakravarthy completes the list of Sehwag’s picks.
“I think Abhishek Sharma can be a game-changer. Bumrah is always a game-changer. Varun Chakravarthy, with his mystery bowling, was very effective in the Champions Trophy and in the T20 format as well. So, these are some game changers for India who can win matches on their own,” Sehwag said on Sony Sports.
Notably, Bumrah has 89 wickets from 70 matches at an impressive average of 17.74. Abhishek Sharma has quickly established himself as a top-order batter. In 17 T20Is, he has scored 535 runs at a strike rate of 193.84, including two centuries and two fifties, with a record 135 against England. Varun Chakravarthy, with 33 wickets from 15 T20Is, controls the middle overs.
