The BCCI has warned ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi to return the Asia Cup trophy to India by November 3 or face action through the ICC.
The BCCI has raised concerns over the delay in receiving the Asia Cup trophy that India won earlier this year in Dubai. The Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, defeated Pakistan in the final but declined to accept the trophy from ACC chief and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, following heightened tensions after the Pahalgam terror attack. The presentation was postponed for over an hour before the trophy was removed from the field without explanation.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the trophy has still not reached the board’s office despite a formal request made ten days ago. The board has set a final deadline of November 3 for its delivery and plans to raise the issue with the ICC in Dubai if it remains unresolved.
“Ten days ago, we wrote to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairperson, requesting that the trophy be handed over to the BCCI at the earliest. However, till today, we have not received it. If we do not get the trophy by November 3, a meeting will be held at the ICC headquarters in Dubai, where we will raise our grievance before the apex body of international cricket. We are sure the ICC will do justice and help India get the trophy at the earliest,” PTI quoted Saikia as saying. .

BCCI Stays Firm: Asia Cup Trophy Will Return to India
Saikia then expressed confidence that the Asia Cup trophy will eventually be returned to India. He said the board is fully prepared to handle the situation and remains determined to resolve the issue through official channels.
“On behalf of BCCI, we are fully prepared how to deal with the matter and I can assure the people of India that the trophy will come back to India, only the timeline is not fixed. One day it will come. We have won all matches against Pakistan and won the trophy. We have won the championship. Everything is on record. Only the trophy is missing. I hope good sense will prevail,” he concluded.
