
Pakistan batter Asif Ali has retired from international cricket and will now focus on playing domestic and league tournaments.
Asif Ali has retired from international cricket, bringing an end to a career that began in 2018. Ali played 21 ODIs and 58 T20Is, scoring important runs in limited-overs formats. His final international appearance came in October 2023.
Asif first broke into Pakistan’s T20I squad in April 2018 after impressive performances for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League. He made his ODI debut two months later and went on to feature regularly in both formats for a brief period.
Announcing his decision through social media, he confirmed that he will continue competing in domestic tournaments and franchise leagues.
“Today, I announce my retirement from international cricket. Wearing the Pakistan jersey has been the greatest honour of my life and serving my country on the cricket field has been my proudest chapter. I retire with immense gratitude and will continue to share my passion for the game by playing domestic and league cricket worldwide,” Asif posted on social media.

Beyond Pakistan duty, Asif gained experience in multiple global leagues, including the BBL, CPL, BPL, MSL and LPL. He accumulated 382 ODI runs at 25.46 and 577 T20I runs at a 133.87 strike rate.
