Australia secured their progression to the next round with a comprehensive 9-wicket victory over Namibia, with 86 balls to spare. After dismissing Namibia for a low score of 72, the result was never in doubt.

Australia’s openers came out aggressively. Although David Warner(20) was dismissed early, Travis Head(34*) and Mitchell Marsh(18*) continued the onslaught. Their attacking partnership ensured Australia reached the target in no time, chasing 73 in just under 6 overs.

Namibia, unable to withstand Australia’s attack, managed to take only one wicket, but overall, their performance was disappointing. The mismatch in skills was evident as Namibia struggled to compete.

Earlier, Adam Zampa led Australia’s bowling, taking 4-12 as Namibia were bowled out for just 72 in 17 overs. Zampa’s impressive spell saw him dismiss Zane Green, David Wiese, Ruben Trumpelmann, and Bernard Scholtz, maintaining an economy rate of 3.00. Zampa also became the first Australian to take 100 wickets in T20Is. Josh Hazlewood and Marcus Stoinis contributed with two wickets each, while Pat Cummins took one.

Australia’s win has secured their place in the next round of the T20 World Cup, joining South Africa, who advanced earlier. South Africa moved forward after heavy rain in Florida caused the Group D match between Sri Lanka and Nepal to be abandoned, making them the first to reach the Super Eight stage.
