Australia won by 4 wickets against India after a dominant bowling show at the MCG in the 2nd T20I clash of the five-match.
Australia sealed a commanding four-wicket win over India in the second T20I at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to go 1-0 up in the five-match series. After rain washed out the first game, both teams looked to gain early momentum, but it was the hosts who dominated from start to finish.
Opting to bowl first, Australia’s pacers dismantled India’s top order with a fiery spell. Josh Hazlewood led the attack brilliantly with figures of 3/13 in his four overs, while Nathan Ellis (2/21) and Xavier Bartlett (2/39) provided crucial support. India struggled to find rhythm as the top and middle order collapsed early, with only Abhishek Sharma putting up a fight.
The left-hander smashed a blistering 68 off 37 balls, featuring eight fours and two sixes, before falling to Ellis. Harshit Rana contributed a steady 35 off 33 balls, but the rest of the batting faltered, leading to India being bowled out for just 125 in 18.4 overs.
In reply, Australia got off to a flying start through captain Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head. The duo added 51 runs for the opening wicket in just 4.3 overs. Marsh top-scored with a quickfire 46 off 26 balls, hitting four sixes and two boundaries, while Head blasted 28 off 15 deliveries.

Despite a brief middle-order wobble triggered by Varun Chakaravarthy (2/23) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/45), the chase remained well under control. Jasprit Bumrah’s late double strike, including a searing yorker to dismiss Matthew Short for a golden duck, came too late to change the result.
Marcus Stoinis (6*) and Xavier Bartlett (0*) calmly saw off the remaining runs as Australia reached 126/6 in 13.2 overs. With this win, the hosts took a 1-0 lead, setting the tone for the rest of the series.
