Ashutosh Sharma Praises Axar Patel’s Leadership
Ashutosh Sharma praised skipper Axar Patel for fostering a positive environment in the DC camp ahead of their clash against MI.
Delhi Capitals (DC) are all set to take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday, April 13.
DC are currently sitting at the top of the IPL 2025 standings with eight points and an impressive net run rate of +1.275. The Delhi-based franchise is the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far.
In contrast, Mumbai Indians are struggling in the ongoing season. They are placed ninth on the points table with only two points and a net run rate of -0.010. The five-time champions have managed to win just one out of their last five matches.

Ahead of the much-anticipated clash, Delhi Capitals batter Ashutosh Sharma praised the leadership of Axar Patel. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ashutosh said that Axar has played a vital role in making the younger players feel comfortable and has created a supportive team atmosphere. “As for Axar bhai’s captaincy—he’s been leading really well. He’s made all the youngsters feel comfortable. We can talk to him about anything, and he’s created a very positive environment,” Ashutosh told reporters.
The young batter also shared his approach towards the game, emphasising belief in process over results. “Honestly, I don’t focus too much on results. I believe in my abilities and always concentrate on the process. I don’t think about winning or losing after a match. I just stay focused on the process, which helps keep things simple and reduces pressure,” he added.
Axar Patel has featured in 154 IPL matches, scoring 1711 runs at a strike rate of 131.72 with an average of 21.39. With the ball, he has taken 123 wickets in the tournament. Ashutosh Sharma, on the other hand, has played 14 IPL games, scoring 256 runs at a strike rate of 176.55 and an average of 32.00.
