After the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will travel to the UAE to face Afghanistan in both T20I and ODI series as part of their T20World Cup preparations.
Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in the UAE for a white-ball series right after the Asia Cup, which ends on September 28. The tour begins with three T20Is starting October 2, followed by three ODIs from October 8. Both teams will use the series as crucial preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled in India and Sri Lanka.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board see the series as an opportunity to further strengthen their ties while delivering competitive cricket at a neutral venue. The matches will allow Afghanistan to fine-tune their squad while Bangladesh aims to build momentum ahead of the tournament.
Head-to-head records remain closely contested between the two sides. In ODIs, Afghanistan has eight wins from 19 meetings, while Bangladesh leads with 11 wins. In T20Is, Afghanistan holds the advantage with seven wins in 12 matches.
