BCCI Shares Advanced Monitoring Systems With State Units

BCCI IMPACT PLAYER Fees Duleep Trophy

The BCCI extended its Athlete Monitoring System (AMS) to state associations to enhance player performance management.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to extend its advanced Athlete Monitoring System (AMS) to state associations to help players optimize their performance. In a communication to the state units, BCCI secretary Jay Shah informed that a team from the newly-established Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru would soon reach out to them to guide in the effective use of the system.

“I’m pleased to inform you that the BCCI will provide the Athlete Monitoring System (AMS) for all state associations, with the costs fully covered by the BCCI. This initiative aims to standardize player monitoring, ensuring better management and enabling peak performance for players,” Shah stated in his message to the associations.

Previously, the AMS was available only to contracted players, cricketers selected for zonal camps, and a few targeted individuals, such as pacer Mayank Yadav. Now, with this expansion, the system will offer key data on athlete readiness, injury and fitness, workload tracking, and real-time alerts to coaches and administrators, all accessible through a mobile app.

AMS Marks Significant Step in the Betterment of Indian Cricket

Abhilash Khandekar, president of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), praised the move, saying, “It is a welcome step by the BCCI. Not all associations can afford such advanced systems, so making it free of cost is commendable. This will not only educate players about monitoring but also help state units.”

The AMS is designed to provide long-term insights into a player’s career, ensuring data is available even years later. VVS Laxman, head of the CoE, emphasized this during a recent media interaction. “We will request state associations to enroll at least 50 players—25 men and 25 women—on the AMS. The idea is to create a long-term player profile so that even after five or ten years, a player’s data remains accessible,” Laxman explained.
