New Base Price Set By BCCI for Sponsor

New lead sponsor to be finalized post-Asia Cup; over ₹400 crore expected by BCCI from 3-year deal.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revised the base price for lead sponsorship of the Indian men’s cricket team, aiming for a notable increase in revenue as it seeks a new partner following Dream11’s exit.
According to industry insiders, the BCCI has set a new base price of ₹3.5 crore per bilateral match and ₹1.5 crore for multilateral fixtures like ICC and ACC tournaments. These rates represent a rise from the previous ₹3.17 crore and ₹1.12 crore respectively — a 10% jump for bilateral games and a modest 3% hike for multilateral events. The difference in valuation stems from the visibility factor: sponsors receive more prominent brand placement on jerseys during bilateral matches, while multilateral tournaments limit branding to the sleeves.
The upcoming sponsorship deal will cover a three-year cycle, during which Team India is expected to play around 130 matches, including marquee events such as the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup. Based on the revised rates, BCCI stands to generate upwards of ₹400 crore, with the final earnings likely to be even higher depending on the winning bid.
Bidding for the sponsorship rights is scheduled for September 16, effectively ruling out the appointment of a new sponsor before the Asia Cup, which begins on September 9. BCCI officials have confirmed that an interim sponsor is unlikely.
On September 2, BCCI issued an Expression of Interest for lead sponsorship, explicitly barring bids from gaming, betting, crypto, tobacco, and other sectors that could conflict with existing partnerships. Dream11’s exit comes in the wake of India’s new Online Gaming Act, 2025, which bans real-money gaming companies from operating in the country.
