Following India’s 7-wicket victory over Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium, Virat Kohli presented a signed jersey to Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who is known to be a ‘fanboy’ of the Indian cricket star.
After the highly anticipated IND vs. PAK World Cup match at Narendra Modi Stadium, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli’s touching gesture toward Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, won hearts. While the Indian team celebrated their resounding 7-wicket victory, Kohli was spotted engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Babar and gifted him a signed jersey. A viral video captured the moment when Babar received two jerseys from Kohli, and a member of Pakistan’s support staff joined the exchange.
Notably, this wasn’t the first time Kohli displayed such sportsmanship; he had previously gifted a signed jersey to Pakistan’s Haris Rauf after a match in the 2022 Asia Cup, following India’s five-wicket win.

India extended their record against Pakistan in ODI World Cups to 8-0 with a convincing performance. After dismissing Pakistan for 191, India efficiently chased down the target in just 30.3 overs, clinching a 7-wicket victory.
The run chase was led by Rohit Sharma (86) and an unbeaten Shreyas Iyer (53*). Indian bowlers, notably Jasprit Bumrah, triggered Pakistan’s collapse from 155 for 2 to 191 all out. Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja all contributed with crucial wickets.
After the match, Babar Azam expressed disappointment with Pakistan’s batting collapse, attributing it to their first defeat in the tournament. He acknowledged the promising start with partnerships but highlighted their struggle with the new ball.
“We started well. Good partnership between me and Imam. We wanted to play normal cricket. Suddenly we had a collapse and didn’t finish well. The way we started, wanted to target 280-290. With the new ball we are not upto the mark. The way Rohit is playing – he played an outstanding innings,” said Babar.
