Bhuvneshwar Kumar stated his focus is on performing in domestic cricket while his return to Team India depends on the selectors.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has reflected on his long absence from the Indian cricket team, with his last international outing being the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final against England in Adelaide. The pacer, now 35, admitted that his return is not in his hands and depends entirely on the selectors.
While he remains eager to represent India again, he stressed that his focus is on maintaining fitness and delivering consistent performances at the domestic level. Bhuvneshwar added that opportunities in tournaments like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Ranji Trophy, and Vijay Hazare Trophy for Uttar Pradesh will allow him to showcase his form.
“Aapko iska uttar chayanakarta denge (Only the selectors can answer that). My job is to give 100 percent on the field, and I’m doing that. If I get a chance to play for Uttar Pradesh in the Mushtaq Ali, Ranji, or One-Day formats after the UP league, I will give my best there too,” said Bhuvneshwar to Dainik Jagran.
