
Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha has been reportedly appointed to the Asia Cup 2025 technical committee.
Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha has reportedly taken up a key role in the Asia Cup 2025 technical committee. His responsibilities will include resolving cricketing disputes, approving or rejecting replacements during the tournament, and overseeing match officials’ appointments. The technical committee also ensures smooth conduct of the event while upholding the rules of the game.
According to reports from Cricbuzz, representatives from multiple participating nations will join the panel, with Ojha serving as India’s voice. In addition, he is expected to join the senior men’s selection committee.
Additionally, S Sharath has finished his term as South Zone selector, and Pragyan Ojha is expected to take his place in the men’s selection panel. Uncertainty remains over the Central Zone position, while Shiv Sunder Das and Subroto Banerjee, both former East Zone cricketers, are part of the current committee. The contracts of Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector, and Ajay Ratra from North Zone were recently extended.

According to BCCI rules, applicants must have played at least seven Tests, 10 ODIs, or 20 first-class matches, retired for five years, and not served more than five years on BCCI committees.
Ojha, with 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and 108 first-class matches, last played international cricket in November 2013 against the West Indies at Wankhede Stadium. He has also earlier served on the IPL governing council and represented the Indian Cricketers’ Association.
