Mitchell Marsh succumbed to a hamstring injury a couple of days ago, and DC assistant coach Pravin Amre revealed that he might be out of the tournament for at least another week.
A few days ago, Delhi Capitals’ director Sourav Ganguly reported Mitchell Marsh’s injury. Lately, Delhi’s assistant coach Pravin Amre shared an update on the all-rounder’s hamstring injury and said that he is expected to miss at least another week of IPL 2024.
Amre shed light on the situation during the post-match conference. “A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Mitch Marsh. He has gone for a scan, and the physios will give us a report in a week’s time. Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can play the entire season or not depends on the reports,” said Amre.

Marsh has a history of battling injuries throughout his IPL career. Despite participating in eight seasons, the 32-year-old Australian has only played 42 matches. Concerns surrounded his participation in the IPL 2022 as well, but he managed to feature in eight games. Notably, he previously opted out of the 2021 season due to bubble fatigue and suffered an ankle injury in the 2023 season.
Amre emphasised the impact of recent injuries on the team’s momentum. “We have to start winning but have been set back by a few injuries. In the first game, Ishant (Sharma) couldn’t bowl two overs. Then Mukesh got injured. Kuldeep has not played three games. Marsh has a hamstring injury. They are our main players, and whoever comes in for them, they are not as effective because it is like A players vs. B players there,” concluded Amre.
Meanwhile, the Capitals struggled to contain Mumbai’s batting lineup on April 7th, conceding a hefty total of 234 runs. While Prithvi Shaw and Tristan Stubbs tried to salvage the chase, securing such a high target proved too challenging, as MI won by 29 runs.
