Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned to Australia due to a hamstring injury, leaving his IPL franchise, the Delhi Capitals, with a setback.
According to ESPNcricinfo, DC’s 32-year-old all-rounder, Mitchell Marsh was recalled by Cricket Australia (CA) in coordination with his IPL team, the Delhi Capitals, regarding an injury concern. Reportedly, the injury is a partial tear in his right hamstring.
Marsh missed the Capitals’ last two matches against the Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants. His most recent appearance was on April 3rd, where he scored a duck against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Overall, his performances in the IPL have not been impressive, with scores of 20, 23, and 18 in his first three matches.

Marsh reportedly departed for Australia immediately after the loss to MI. While a final decision on his IPL status has not been made, both CA and the Capitals are involved in the discussions.
This injury raised concerns for Australia, with the T20 World Cup just a few months away. Marsh has been a key player for Australia in all formats, and his leadership qualities have made him a strong candidate for the captaincy role.
Meanwhile, alongside Marsh’s exit, another injury concern is growing strong in the Delhi camp, as David Warner was also reported to have swelling on his finger while attempting to play a lap over short fine leg and underwent scans upon landing in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Warner will hopefully return for DC’s next match against GT on April 17th.
