Delhi Capitals’ star Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the next IPL match against the Mumbai Indians due to injury.
The Delhi Capitals have been dealt a significant blow ahead of their crucial IPL encounter against the Mumbai Indians on April 7th. Star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who was also named captain of Australia’s upcoming T20 World Cup squad, will miss the match due to injury.
The news was confirmed by Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, during a press conference. However, details regarding the nature of Marsh’s injury and his recovery timeline remain undisclosed, as per One Cricket.
Marsh’s absence is a setback for the Capitals, considering his dual role as a vital all-rounder. While his impact has not been substantial so far in IPL 2024, his experience and skills hold significant value for the team.

The all-rounder featured in all four matches for the Capitals this season. He has not yet registered a significant contribution with the bat, scoring a total of 61 runs, with the highest being 23. His bowling has also been quiet, managing just one wicket while conceding 52 runs in his allotted overs.
Although the replacements have not been confirmed yet, in Marsh’s absence, the Delhi Capitals might turn to Jake Fraser-McGurk, who joined the squad as a replacement for Lungi Ngidi.
Meanwhile, the Delhi camp is evidently struggling with their performance, as the team currently sits in ninth place, just above the Mumbai Indians. DC have won only one match out of the four they have played and will face off against the least-ranked MI, sitting in the tenth position with no win in their bag.
