Rishabh Pant to Captain Delhi Capitals For IPL 2025
DC co-owner Parth Jindal confirmed that Rishabh Pant would be retained as captain ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal confirmed the retention of captain Rishabh Pant ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction. In an interview with IANS, Jindal mentioned that while DC has several top performers they would like to retain, final decisions will be made after consultations with Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly.
Despite finishing 6th in the previous IPL season and missing the playoffs, DC saw impressive performances from young players like Abishek Porel, Tristan Stubbs, and Jake Fraser-McGurk. Jindal acknowledged the potential for retaining these players but clarified that apart from Pant, no decisions had been finalized yet.
“We definitely have to retain. We have some very good players on our team. The rules have just come out, and after discussions with GMR and our Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, decisions will be made,” Jindal told IANS.

Speaking on the new retention rules, Jindal remarked, “We’ll see what happens in the auction. As per the rules, we can retain six players. After discussions, we will proceed with the auction and see how things unfold.”
