Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik predicted an India vs Australia final in the 2024-25 World Test Championship, expressing hope that India will redeem themselves after last year’s loss to Australia.
As the race for the World Test Championship (WTC) intensifies, teams are vying for crucial points to secure a spot in the final, set to be held at Lord’s from June 11 to 15, 2025, with June 16 as a reserve day. This will be the second time the historic venue hosts the WTC final. India, having reached the finals in the previous two editions, fell short on both occasions.
Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik predicts that India, under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, will once again make it to the final alongside Australia, led by Pat Cummins. Karthik believes this time India will overcome their past struggles and claim redemption after their previous defeat to Australia in the WTC final.
“I think it’s going to be Australia will be in the World Test Championship final and that is India’s chance to get redemption. Two years ago they beat us at the Oval. Here is a chance that’s going to come again in 2025 and I genuinely wish India goes on to cross that hurdle and beat Australia in that World Test Championship final,” Kartik told to Cricbuzz.
