Dwayne Bravo, the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, announced his retirement from the CPL after the 2024 season.
The legendary West Indian all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, has announced his retirement from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at the conclusion of the ongoing season. The 40-year-old, who is the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, made the announcement ahead of Trinbago Knight Riders’ opening match against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Dwayne Bravo, a veteran of the CPL since its inception in 2013, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play in front of his Caribbean fans one last time. “It’s been a great journey. This season will be my last one and I’m looking forward to playing my final professional tournament in front of my Caribbean people. TKR is the place where everything started for me and will end with my team,” he said on Instagram.
Bravo, who has also served as the bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), boasts an impressive record in the CPL. He has taken 128 wickets in 103 matches at an average of 22.40 and an economy rate of 8.69. The all-rounder has won five CPL titles, including three with TKR.

Throughout his CPL career, Bravo has not only been a formidable player but also a mentor to young talents. He has played a crucial role in developing players like Dominic Drakes and Ali Khan. Bravo’s retirement from the CPL marks the end of an illustrious career in T20 cricket. While he will no longer be playing in the Caribbean, he is expected to continue his involvement in the game as a coach or mentor.
