England’s 2025 summer cricket schedule includes the women’s team opening with IT20s against the West Indies, while the men’s team will start with a historic Test against Zimbabwe.
England’s 2025 summer cricket schedule, announced by the ECB on 22nd August, features both the men’s and women’s teams playing key series. The women’s team will start the summer with a Vitality IT20 against the West Indies on 21 May at Spitfire Ground, Canterbury, followed by two more IT20s and three ODIs.
Shortly after, the men’s team will face the West Indies in a three-match ODI series starting on 29 May at Edgbaston, followed by a three-match IT20 series. This will be preceded by a historic Test against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge from 22 May, marking Zimbabwe’s first Test in England since 2003.
In July, England Men will take on India in a five-Test series, starting at Headingley on 20 June, with matches also at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Emirates Old Trafford, and The Kia Oval. Concurrently, England Women will compete against India in five IT20s and three ODIs.
The summer will conclude with England Men facing South Africa in three ODIs and three IT20s before traveling to Ireland for three ODIs from 17-21 September. Additionally, in 2026, India Women will make history with a one-off Test at Lord’s, marking the first Women’s Test at the iconic venue.
Richard Gould, ECB Chief Executive Officer mentioned the success of past joint Men’s and Women’s series and the anticipated excitement of the 2025 matches against the West Indies and India. He noted that India’s tour is always a major highlight.
“Staging England Men’s and England Women’s series alongside each other has been popular with fans and supported the continued growth of the women’s game, with both the Ashes last year and the Pakistan series earlier this year proving successful. India touring is always a big draw and a highlight of any cricket summer. I’m delighted we’ll also be welcoming both West Indies teams back again for white ball series, following this year’s Men’s Test series,” Gould was quoted as saying by the ECB.

The Chief Executive Officer then celebrated the historic return of Zimbabwe for a Men’s Test, marking over 20 years since their last visit, and confirmed that India Women will play the first-ever Women’s Test at Lord’s in 2026.
“To be welcoming Zimbabwe back for a Men’s Test Match will be a historic moment, more than 20 years since their last visit. I’m also delighted we can confirm that India Women will return in 2026 to take on England Women in the first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance,” he added.
