England reached 21 without loss at stumps on Day 4, needing 350 more runs to win after India set a target of 371.
India ended Day 4 of the first Anderson- Tendulkar trophy Test with a strong position, setting England a challenging target of 371. After resuming their second innings, India were bowled out for 364. KL Rahul top-scored with 137 off 247 balls, while Rishabh Pant smashed 118 before falling while trying to accelerate.
The duo added 195 runs for the fifth wicket in just 27 overs during the second session. India scored at 5.37 runs per over in that phase. The visitors went into tea with a lead of 304 and looked set for an even bigger total.
However, England struck back late in the innings. India collapsed from 348/4 to 364 all out, losing six wickets for just 16 runs. Josh Tongue triggered the collapse with three wickets in four balls, including Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Despite the sudden collapse, India managed to post a 370-run lead. This is the first time India have recorded five centuries in a single Test match.
England began their chase cautiously. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett played out six overs without trouble, ending the day at 21/0. They needs 350 runs more on the final day to win.
