England has revealed their squads for the Caribbean white-ball tour, signaling a significant rebuild with just six players retained from the CWC23 campaign in the line-up for the upcoming ODI and T20I series.
Seeking redemption after their Cricket World Cup 2023 letdown, England unveiled revamped squads for the West Indies white-ball tour in December. Jos Buttler captains both sides in the three ODIs and five T20Is from December 3-21, offering a chance for strategic recalibration in the 50-over format and preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 next June.
With just five other players from the ICC World Cup squad retained, including Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone, the series spans Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, and Trinidad. After a successful Test season, Josh Tongue and seamer John Turner earn spots in both T20I and ODI squads.
West Indies, returning to international cricket since August, aims for a strong comeback after missing the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
