Former Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad called for the inclusion of Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, and Suryakumar Yadav in India’s T20 World Cup squad, praising their individual strengths.
With the T20 World Cup around the corner, former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad believes the batting order for the upcoming World Cup could be exceptional if India includes Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh.
Prasad made the comments on his social media, highlighting each player’s strengths. “Shivam Dube for his striking ability against spinners, Surya for being the best T20 international batter, and Rinku Singh for his exceptional finishing ability. It will be great if India finds a way to have these three in the 11 in the T20 World Cup. With Virat and Rohit, this will leave a spot for just a keeper batter. It’s interesting to see how it pans out,” commented Prasad.
Dube has been in impressive form with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, playing a crucial role in their victories. In recent games, he provided valuable support to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s fifty, accelerating the chase with 28 runs off 18 balls.

Rinku Singh, who usually takes up the role of a finisher for the Kolkata Knight Riders, boasts a decent strike rate of 150 in the IPL. He has also proven his ability on the international stage, particularly against Afghanistan. In the third T20I, he stitched a crucial partnership with Rohit Sharma, scoring a quickfire 69 off 39 deliveries to help India tie the match, which they eventually won in a super over.
Suryakumar Yadav, currently the world’s number-one-ranked T20I batter, recently returned from an ankle injury. While his comeback was not ideal because he was dismissed for a duck, his talent remains undeniable. Especially his ability to change gears when needed and go for the quickfire in demanding situations is an important marker of his ability as a T20 batter.
Nevertheless, the IPL will serve as a crucial selection ground for the World Cup squad. Players eyeing a spot will need to perform well to secure their ticket to the USA. India will start their T20 World Cup journey with Ireland on June 5th.
