GT pacer Spencer Johnson shared that David Miller might not join the GT squad for the April 10th clash against RR.
Gujarat Titans’ star batter David Miller is likely to miss the team’s upcoming IPL 2024 match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, April 10th, according to teammate Spencer Johnson. For the unaware, Miller has been absent since scoring an unbeaten 44 against SunRisers Hyderabad on March 31st.
At a pre-match press conference, Johnson offered an update on Miller’s status. “Davy, I think he is not too far away. Even if he misses this one, he will be available for the next one,” said Johnson, as quoted by Sportskeeda. Earlier, reports according to the PTI suggested Miller is suffering from a minor injury and could be sidelined for at least two weeks.
Evidently, the Gujarat Titans (GT) suffered a batting collapse after losing the key middle-order batter in their previous matches. Miller’s absence, as he has been in good form, proved costly for GT in consecutive matches.
The Titans have had a mixed start to their IPL 2024 campaign, winning two and losing three matches. Johnson shared that the team could have secured victories in some of their defeats. “We have had a couple of disappointing performances in the last couple of games, but in the last couple of years, we have shown how good a side we are,” stated the fast bowler.
The Titans opened their IPL 2024 campaign with a narrow six-run win over the Mumbai Indians. However, they suffered a heavy 63-run defeat to the defending champions the Chennai Super Kings in their next match.
Gujarat made a comeback with a comfortable seven-wicket win over SunRisers Hyderabad before falling short in their last two encounters against the Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. Currently, GT is placed seventh on the IPL points table.
