Harbhajan Singh praised Suryakumar Yadav’s exceptional form, likening him to AB de Villiers and expressing relief at not having to bowl to the Mumbai Indians’ star.
Harbhajan Singh lauded Suryakumar Yadav’s exceptional performance in the recent IPL 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, highlighting his rapid half-century comeback after a previous duck. Yadav’s explosive 17-ball fifty at the Wankhede Stadium earned admiration from the legendary spinner, who likened him to AB de Villiers.
“When Suryakumar shines, no one can survive. We have all seen AB de Villiers; unbelievable player. But when I see this guy, I think he is a better version of AB de Villiers,” Harbhajan said on Star Sports.
“I have never seen someone dominating like the way Suryakumar does. Unbelievable. Where do you bowl to him? I am so glad I am not playing cricket now. At this age, where do bowl to this guy?” he added.
In the Mumbai Indians vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore match, MI elected to bowl after winning the toss. RCB, led by Faf du Plessis, saw an early dismissal of Virat Kohli by Jasprit Bumrah, who later clinched five wickets. Despite Bumrah’s stellar performance, RCB set a strong 196-run target. Notable contributions from Du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, and Dinesh Karthik boosted RCB’s innings.
MI’s run chase started with explosive batting from Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma. Although Kishan fell to Akash Deep after a strong fifty, Suryakumar Yadav’s blazing 52 off 19 balls propelled MI to victory within 15.3 overs, securing a seven-wicket win.
