Big money for WTC 2025

ICC unveiled a record prize money pool for the 2023–25 World Test Championship (WTC) Final at Lord’s.
With less than a month to go for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 Final at Lord’s, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record prize money pool for the one-off Test between South Africa and Australia.
The total prize pool for the final has been set at USD $5.76 million, more than twice the amount awarded in the previous two editions of the WTC. The winners of this year’s final will receive USD $3.6 million, a sharp increase from the USD $1.6 million awarded in 2021 and 2023. The runners-up will take home USD $2.16 million, compared to just USD $800,000 in the past.
South Africa were the first team to qualify for the final, finishing on top of the WTC25 standings after series wins over Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, along with a drawn home series against India.
Australia secured their place in the summit clash with a 3-1 series win over India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Their strong performance also included a 3-0 home sweep of Pakistan and away victories against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

“The championship has showcased remarkable performances from players of different teams, culminating in a final between these two exceptional squads – a true celebration of cricket.
“I am sure spectators at Lord’s, along with fans tuning in from all over the world, will be treated to some top-class cricket in this revered format when Australia and South Africa take the field less than a month from now. “On behalf of the ICC, I extend best wishes to the players of both teams in their preparations for the prestigious match.”
