India revealed their 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 a day earlier with Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill and others in the reserve.
After a much-anticipated wait, the BCCI finally revealed India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The tentative date for the release was May 1st, however, the list was released a day earlier.
In a media release, BCCI shared the full list of the 15-man squad along with the dates and venues for the matches where the country will play.
India’s 15-man squad for T20 World Cup 2024:
Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Hardik Pandya (Vice Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj.
Reserves – Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan
Notably, the press release shared that Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar will address the media on May 2nd. “Captain Rohit Sharma, and Chairman of Selection Committee, Mr Ajit Agarkar will address a press conference on May 2nd at 4 pm at BCCI HQ in Mumbai. The process for attending the conference will be shared separately,” shared the official statement on BCCI’s website.

India will begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5th at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, followed by a much-anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 9th at the same venue. The team will then play USA and Canada on June 12th and 15th respectively.
