The BCCI announced a ₹51 crore reward for India Women after they won their first-ever Women’s World Cup by defeating South Africa in the final at Navi Mumbai.

India Women scripted history as Harmanpreet Kaur’s team won the Women’s World Cup for the first time, defeating South Africa in the final at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on November 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced a reward of ₹51 crore for the players and support staff following the landmark win.

“Last month, ICC Chairman Jay Shah announced a 300 percent increase in women’s prize money. Earlier, the prize fund was 3.88 million dollars, which has now been raised to 14 million dollars. In addition, the BCCI has decided to reward the entire Indian team — players, coaches, selectors, and support staff — with a total of Rs 51 crore,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia was quoted as saying by India Today.

The ICC has also awarded India ₹37.3 crore as part of the 2025 Women’s World Cup prize fund, a record-breaking increase of 239 percent from 2022, when champions Australia earned around ₹11 crore. The total prize pool for this year’s tournament stands at ₹116 crore, up from ₹29 crore in the previous edition. This is the first World Cup where men’s and women’s events share equal prize money, a major milestone in cricket’s journey toward pay parity.
