Reports from Cricbuzz indicate that Jasprit Bumrah will skip the Ranchi Test, with his potential participation in the final Dharamsala Test dependent on the outcome of the fourth Test.

Jasprit Bumrah, initially planned for rest during the third India-England Test in Rajkot, was brought back into the playing XI due to the series’ stakes. However, with India securing a resounding 434-run victory and taking a 2-1 lead, Bumrah is now set to miss the fourth Test in Ranchi to manage his workload, as per Cricbuzz reports on Monday, 19.02.2024.

Currently leading the series’ wicket-takers with an impressive 17 dismissals from three matches at an average of 13.65, Jasprit Bumrah’s workload has raised concerns within the team management. Having bowled 80.5 overs thus far, Bumrah’s history of back injuries, including surgery in March 2023, necessitates careful management.

Consequently, he’s likely to be rested for the Ranchi Test and is expected to return home to Ahmedabad from Rajkot on Monday. This decision mirrors the earlier resting of Mohammed Siraj during the Visakhapatnam Test.

With Bumrah absent, Mukesh Kumar, previously released during the third Test, could rejoin the squad. All other Indian players are anticipated to be available for the fourth Test.
