India’s squad for the Bangladesh T20Is, expected to be announced this week, will likely see Sanju Samson as the first-choice keeper with Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill rested.
The India squad for the Bangladesh T20Is will be announced this week, with Sanju Samson expected to be the first-choice wicketkeeper as Rishabh Pant is likely to take a break. According to reports from the PTI, Jitesh Sharma, from Vidarbha, is a strong contender for the second wicketkeeper spot, ahead of Ishan Kishan.
The three-match T20I series begins in Gwalior on October 6, followed by games in New Delhi and Hyderabad on October 9 and 12. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team, while Hardik Pandya is expected to return.
Shubman Gill, Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah may also be rested due to workload management before the Test series against New Zealand. Abhishek Sharma is expected to return in the absence of Shubman Gill. However, it’s unclear who will open with him if both Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are rested.
Some players will also miss the T20Is due to their participation in the Irani Cup, taking place from October 1 to 5 in Lucknow.

There is also speculation that Jaiswal could play the first T20I, and Gaikwad might join later. The report also added that Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube are set to make their comeback to the national squad.
