Glenn Maxwell hilariously described Virat Kohli’s energetic presence on the field, likening him to a child, while highlighting Kohli’s significant influence on the RCB team environment.
Despite Royal Challengers Bangalore’s lackluster start in the IPL 2024, with losses against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders placing them ninth on the points table, Virat Kohli shines as a standout performer, currently holding the Orange Cap. His unmatched brand value enhances the franchise’s appeal on and off the pitch.
When speaking to ESPN Australia, Glenn Maxwell offered a glimpse into Kohli’s impact, describing his infectious enthusiasm in the dressing room.
“He is like a kid in the field. It is so funny watching him bounce around. I have to sort of remind him to act his age every now and then because he is making me look bad as we are from the same age group. It is not going well if I am telling you that,” Maxwell was quoted as saying.
“He has been brilliant coming back into the group, and you can see him bounce around. He is pretty excited to be around the RCB boys and just be around the guys, playing well again, running around the field,” he added.
In IPL 2024, Kohli shines with two fifties, leading the race for the Orange Cap, trailed closely by Rajasthan’s Riyan Parag and Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen.RCB’s journey saw a 6-wicket loss to CSK initially, followed by a narrow 4-wicket victory against Punjab Kings. However, consecutive losses at home – first to Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets, then to Lucknow Super Giants by 28 runs – halted their momentum after their initial win.
