CSK’s CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, expressed unwavering confidence in MS Dhoni’s commitment to feature in the IPL 2024 season.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), revealed their retained player list for the 2024 Indian Premier League, eagerly awaited by fans for the confirmation of the legendary skipper, MS Dhoni’s status. Last season, Dhoni battled a knee injury, sparking retirement speculations, yet persevered, leading CSK to a historic sixth IPL title.
Although Dhoni underwent knee surgery, the severity of the injury remains uncertain. Despite this, the captain remains undeterred from continuing. CSK’s CEO, Kasi Vishwanathan, emphasized Dhoni’s commitment, stating, “If our leader gives a word, he has never gone back. So, he has already told what he is planning to do in that interview (post-match presentation in the final).”
“I’m sure that knowing MS, he will always do what he had committed to do. I’m very confident that he’ll come back and do well for the CSK this year. And he’s quite fit and raring to go,” he added.
Dhoni’s presence for the upcoming season awaits confirmation. Meanwhile, CSK released key players like Ben Stokes and Ambati Rayudu, reducing their purse to 31.4 crores for the 2024 IPL. With eyes on the December 2023 mini-auctions, CSK aims to fortify their squad with strategic signings using their available funds.
