In a recent media release, the BCCI confirmed player replacements for the upcoming TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season due to injuries.

The BCCI confirmed player replacements for the IPL 2024 season, with wicketkeeper-batsman B R Sharath joining the Gujarat Titans and Tanush Kotian filling in for the Rajasthan Royals, addressing injury and personal reasons for Robin Minz and Adam Zampa, respectively.

The Gujarat Titans (GT) brought in wicketkeeper-batsman B R Sharath to replace Robin Minz, who suffered an injury in a bike accident on March 2nd.

Sharath, a cricketer from Karnataka, boasts experience in domestic tournaments with 28 T20 matches, 20 First-Class matches, and 43 List-A games under his belt. He has a batting record of 328 T20 runs and joined the Gujarat Titans squad for his base price of INR 20 lakh.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) also announced a replacement due to Adam Zampa’s withdrawal for personal reasons, reportedly influenced by family and a busy schedule following the 2023 World Cup.

Tanush Kotian fills the gap left by Zampa. Kotian recently impressed with his all-round contributions during Mumbai’s victory in the 42nd Ranji Trophy championship. This well-rounded player brings experience from 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games, and 19 List-A matches representing Mumbai. He joined the Rajasthan Royals for his base price of INR 20 lakh.

These replacements allow both franchises to address team needs and injury concerns before the IPL season kicks off. Sharath’s wicketkeeping skills and batting experience offer valuable support to the Gujarat Titans, while Kotian’s all-around abilities add depth to the Rajasthan Royals’ roster.

Both the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans are set to begin their IPL 2024 campaign on March 24th.
