Virat Kohli boosted RCB men’s morale with a motivational speech in the dressing room after a disappointing defeat against KKR.
Though Virat Kohli had a positive night on his half during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clash on March 29th, his team suffered a defeat as Shreyas Iyer and Co. won the match by 7 wickets.
After the defeat, the overall morale of the RCB dressing room was down, which was uplifted by Virat Kohli’s motivational speech soon after. Watch the video below:
The former RCB skipper shared his thoughts about the defeat and what could have been improved during the game for a better outcome. “We had a tough night; we all know that. We are much better than that, as long as we accept it and move forward with the same courage and the same belief in our skills. That’s all we can come up with, so let’s stay on that path,” Kohli said, as captured in the video.
Speaking of the match, RCB’s batting woes continued in their IPL encounter against KKR. Put in to bat first, RCB could only manage 182/6 despite a valiant knock of 83 runs from Virat Kohli. The pitch, known for its batting friendliness, left the RCB batters struggling.
KKR, however, had no trouble adapting to the pitch conditions. Narine and Salt attacked RCB’s bowlers with ease, amassing a whopping 85 runs in the powerplay overs. This aggressive start effectively took the game away from RCB. The chase was completed with 19 balls to spare, showcasing KKR’s dominance over the game.
Securing a net run rate of +1.047, KKR currently sits second to the table-toppers, the Chennai Super Kings. KKR will face the Delhi Capitals on April 3rd, whereas RCB will host the Lucknow Super Giants on April 2nd.
