In a heartfelt video posted on Instagram, Pandya took fans on a nostalgic journey, showcasing his early days with MI alongside glimpses of his current training regime.

The video also featured a clip of Pandya expressing his immense gratitude for the IPL. During a gym session, he reflected on how the league transformed his life. “IPL gave me everything. IPL has given me my identity. Otherwise, I would be still in Baroda, where I am. But not this Hardik, some other Hardik would have been there (laughs),” said Hardik in the video.

After leading the Gujarat Titans to a championship in 2022, Pandya now looks forward to a successful stint for MI as well. He also boasts a successful IPL tenure, with 2,309 runs scored and 53 wickets taken across his career. Notably, he has been vocal about his desire to create a strong team spirit built on “brotherhood” within the Mumbai Indians squad, thereby, aiming to steer MI back to championship glory.

Pandya’s first challenge as MI captain starts on March 24th, as they face his former team, the Gujarat Titans, in Ahmedabad.
