Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the Rest of India team in the ZR Irani Cup 2024 against Mumbai, with Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal included in the squad.
The BCCI has announced the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup 2024 match against Mumbai. The match is set to take place at Lucknow’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium from October 1.
The 15-member squad includes Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal, both currently part of the India Test squad for the series against Bangladesh. However, their participation in the Irani Cup depends on them not being involved in the second Test match starting on September 27 in Kanpur. Neither player was part of the XI during India’s win in the first Test in Chennai. With Rishabh Pant in form and India expected to play three spinners in Kanpur, Jurel and Dayal are likely to join the Irani Cup squad.
Additionally, Sarfaraz Khan will be released to represent Mumbai in the Irani Cup, provided he is not required for the Test match in Kanpur.
