Under Kiran More’s guidance at Reliance Stadium in Baroda, Ishan Kishan has started training alongside Hardik and Krunal Pandya.
In December 2023, Ishan Kishan withdrew from the South Africa series due to mental fatigue, leading to KL Rahul’s inclusion in the playing XI. He also missed the T20I series against Afghanistan and is not part of the Test series against England. Head coach Rahul Dravid stated that Kishan hasn’t made himself available yet when questioned about his participation.

Nevertheless, Kishan commenced training sessions alongside Hardik and Krunal Pandya at the Reliance Stadium in Baroda. Although Hardik, recovering from an ankle injury, is gearing up for the Indian Premier League, Kishan’s plans remain uncertain. Former cricketer Kiran More is overseeing their training, as confirmed by Cricbuzz. However, reports indicate Kishan’s reluctance to return.
Ishan has been absent from the Indian team since November 28, 2023, when he played his last match against Australia. Despite being selected for the South Africa tour, he didn’t feature in any of the T20Is. Additionally, he withdrew from the Boxing Day Test in Cape Town due to personal reasons and hasn’t played since.
Earlier, Dravid emphasized the necessity for competitive matches for Kishan’s national squad consideration. Nevertheless, Kishan’s absence from Jharkhand’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Haryana on February 9 practically eliminates his chances of featuring in the remaining England matches, including the third Test starting on February 15.
