Indian Cricket Team recently shared a heartwarming video of Virat Kohli meeting Srinivas, a specially-abled fan from Chennai, who had created a unique portrait of Kohli, taking over 40 hours.
Indian cricket’s run machine Virat Kohli enjoys a massive fan following not only in India but across the world. We’ve seen fans surrounding him wherever he’s spotted outside. The country has also witnessed some incredible gestures of love for this ex-Indian skipper.
The official Instagram account of the Indian Cricket Team recently posted a heartwarming video featuring a specially-abled fan who had the chance to meet Virat Kohli. During the meeting, the fan presented a unique of Kohli, which Kohli graciously autographed. Srinivas, a fan hailing from Chennai took 40+ hours to draw the beautiful portrait of Kohli.
“I’m Srinivas and I’m from Chennai. I’m studying graphic design and I came here to buy tickets. But I eventually ended up meeting Virat Kohli and he signed on this” revealed the delighted fan.
“I felt like, am I dreaming this? I was like, he came straight to me and asked do you want me to sign on this? I was like yes sir sure. And I asked him for a picture and he said, sure come, let’s take a picture,” Srinivas was on cloud nine when explaining.
“I love him for his cover drive and that cover drive made me draw this,” he added.
When asked about Indian players and fans’ expectations, Srinivas confessed “We fans might be pressurizing the players, but surely they do well. I wish the good luck.”
With three ODI centuries this year, Virat Kohli enters the 2023 World Cup in stellar form. The 34-year-old has notched up 47 centuries in ODIs thus far, just two shy of Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49. Kohli recently became the fastest batter to reach 13,000 ODI runs during the Asia Cup against Pakistan.
India, fresh from their Asia Cup triumph, begins their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8th at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
