Jayden Seales was fined 25% of his match fee and given a demerit point by the ICC for throwing the ball at Yashaswi Jaiswal during the second India-West Indies Test.
West Indies pacer Jayden Seales faced a 25%match fee fine and one demerit point from the ICC for breaching the Level 1 Code of Conduct during the second Test against India. The incident occurred on the first day of play when Seales, in frustration, threw the ball toward Yashaswi Jaiswal after completing his follow-through, striking the batter on the pads.
The action was deemed inappropriate and against the spirit of the game under Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which addresses the misuse of cricket equipment in a dangerous or unsporting manner. The punishment was imposed immediately after Seales accepted the charge without contest.

“Seales was found to have breached Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to ‘throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment) at or near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match’,” ICC stated in a media release.
“In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to Seales’ disciplinary record, taking his total demerit points to two in a 24-month period,” the release added.
In the match, West Indies ended Day 3 of the second Test at 173/2, with John Campbell and Shai Hope leading a strong comeback. WI still trail India by 97 runs after being forced to follow on earlier, having been dismissed for 248 in response to India’s massive 518.
