The first Test of Ashes 2023 started on June 16. England won the toss and elected to bat first. England continue their Bazball approach against the World Champions Australia.
Joe Root has been in excellent form in the longest format of the game and he continues his great form in the Ashes. He has been hitting the ball pretty well and has been keeping one end tight.
After the tea break, Joe Root decided to change his normal approach to a innovative approach that too against the in-form pacer Scott Boland. He reverse scooped Scott Boland for a six over third man. It was also the first six of the match.
The second reverse scoop six was against the Australian captain, Pat Cummins. Although the ball didn’t hit the middle of the bat, the ball went over the line for a six.
Joe Root who is usually known for his elegance and class, was seen with innovative shots against the in-form pacers of Australia.
