Kane Williamson shared that David Miller might not be available in the GT camp for the next two weeks due to injury.
Gujarat Titans batter David Miller might miss the next two weeks of action due to an injury, according to teammate Kane Williamson. Miller’s absence was confirmed during the toss for the IPL match between the Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat’s new captain, Shubman Gill, revealed Miller would miss the clash due to an injury. This led to Williamson replacing Miller in the playing XI.
During a mid-innings interview, Williamson shed light on the extent of Miller’s injury. “Nice to be out there with the guys. It’s a shame to lose David Miller for a week or two,” he said, emphasising that the southpaw might miss a couple of games for the team in the upcoming weeks. Significantly, this update provides a clearer picture of Miller’s absence and the potential disruption it could cause to the Titans’ batting order in the coming matches.
Williamson also took the opportunity to praise teammate Shubman Gill for his impressive knock. Gill remained unbeaten on 89 runs off just 48 balls, with his innings including six boundaries and four sixes. “Shubman (Gill) is a fantastic player,” Williamson commented during the interview.
However, Gill’s inning was overshadowed, as it did not translate to a win for GT. In the match, Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and opted to bowl first. Williamson, batting at number 3, contributed a 26-run home run off 22 balls. Sai and Tewatia also contributed runs to the team total, but it was not enough as PBKS turned the tables in a thrilling run chase, with Shashank Singh leading the Kings to victory by scoring 61 runs off 29 balls.
Meanwhile, GT is in sixth place in the IPL points table, winning two matches out of the four they have played. They will be facing LSG on April 7th at Lucknow.
