Karnataka team captain Mayank Agarwal was admitted to the ICU after experiencing discomfort on a Surat-bound flight from Agartala.
During a flight from Agartala to Surat, India cricketer Mayank Agarwal faced a serious health issue and was swiftly admitted to the hospital, landing him in the ICU. Leading Karnataka in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, Agarwal has amassed 310 runs in four matches. The skipper experienced a burning sensation in his mouth and throat, prompting immediate hospitalization.
Presently undergoing treatment at the ILS hospital in Agartala, Agarwal is thankfully out of danger. Officials from the Tripura Cricket Association are also at the hospital, and the right-handed batter is unlikely to participate in Karnataka’s upcoming game on February 2.
Leading Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy, Agarwal recently secured a crucial 29-run victory over Tripura, contributing with a stellar 51 in the first innings. Earlier in the season, Agarwal showcased his batting prowess with impressive scores of 109 against Gujarat and 114 against Goa, earning him the Player of the Match award. Currently, he has accumulated 310 runs from seven innings in the ongoing season, boasting an average of 44.28, including two centuries and a half-century.
The 32-year-old, with 21 Tests for India, has scored 1488 runs at an average of 41.33. Karnataka, positioned second in Group C, is set to face Railways in their upcoming fixture in Surat on February 2, following a previous victory.
