Kedar Jadhav announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, ending a notable career with the Indian national team.

In a heartfelt social media post, Kedar Jadhav announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Jadhav, who made his debut for India in June 2014 against Bangladesh in an ODI series, has had a notable career. Over the course of his career, he played 73 ODIs for India, scoring 1389 runs at an impressive average of 42.09, including six half-centuries and two centuries. His last international appearance for India was on February 8, 2020.

One of Jadhav’s career highlights was a magnificent century against Zimbabwe during India’s tour in 2015. He was again part of the squad for the Zimbabwe tour in 2016 but did not get a chance to bat. His consistent performances earned him a key role in the five-match ODI series against New Zealand in 2016, and he was also part of India’s squad for the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Jadhav’s T20 international career was brief, featuring only nine games. In six T20I innings, he scored 122 runs at an average of 20.33, with his highest score being 58 runs. Known for his useful off-spin bowling, he also picked up 27 wickets in ODIs. Despite his contributions, Jadhav found himself out of favour with the emergence of new talents like Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Axar Patel.

In his Instagram post, Jadhav wrote, “Thank you all for your love and support throughout my career. From 1500 hours on, consider me retired from all forms of cricket.”

Jadhav was often seen as a natural T20 player, a reputation he earned through his performances on the domestic circuit. He first grabbed attention during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2008–09 season with the Delhi Daredevils, where he made a blistering 50 in just 29 balls. Later, he was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2016.
