Delhi Capitals’ Kuldeep Yadav is reportedly being monitored by medical experts from both the National Cricket Academy and the franchise due to concerns about his fitness.
Delhi Capitals reportedly may have to do without Kuldeep Yadav for their upcoming clash against Mumbai Indians due to injury concerns, with the star bowler advised rest by the franchise’s medical team. Kuldeep, who has taken three wickets in two away games this season against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings, missed subsequent matches against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Kuldeep’s absence from training on Wednesday and Thursday, coupled with discomfort experienced while running and bowling before the Chennai match, has led to precautionary measures being taken to keep him away from cricket activities.
“He didn’t attend training on Wednesday and Thursday and as a precautionary measure, we are keeping him away from cricket. He was not feeling well before Chennai’s match as he addressed discomfort while running and bowling,” sources told IANS.
Yadav’s injury seems minor as he travels with the Delhi Capitals squad and is present in Mumbai for their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians on April 7.
Indian selectors will closely monitor his recovery as he’s a top contender for a spin slot in the T20 World Cup squad. Following a stellar performance in the Test series against England, where he claimed 19 wickets and earned Player of the Match honors, Kuldeep’s skills are evident. The Delhi Capitals’ subsequent match is against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on April 12.
