Litton Das Ready For Asia Cup

Litton Das is confident of Bangladesh’s preparation for Asia Cup 2025.

Bangladesh’s top-order batter, Litton Das, has expressed confidence that his team is well-prepared for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The Bangladesh team has been placed in Group B, alongside Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) left no stone unturned in their preparations, organizing a comprehensive pre-series fitness camp in Dhaka before shifting to Sylhet for a skill-based training camp. Litton believes these camps have been vital for the team’s positive momentum, especially following their recent victories in the series against the Netherlands.

“I believe we are well-prepared for the Asia Cup,” said Litton. “From the start, I emphasized that the camp was not just for this series, but also to ensure we are ready for the Asia Cup ahead. I have never seen such a good camp before. While fitness training can be done anywhere, the kind of specialized practice we wanted could only be achieved in Sylhet. Overall, I feel this journey has been really positive for us.”

Bangladesh recently clinched a 2-0 series victory over the Netherlands. The first match saw them win by eight wickets, and the second by nine wickets. The third match, however, was abandoned due to rain after only 18.2 overs were bowled. Despite the interruption, Litton was pleased with the team’s overall performance, especially the dominant showing by the top-order batters.

“Of course, it would have been better if more batters had the chance to bat, but the key takeaway is that we won convincingly in the first two games. That’s a positive sign heading into a major event like the Asia Cup. The fact that not all of our batters needed to bat in these matches shows how well the top-order is performing,” he noted. “In the Asia Cup, there will be a day when everyone has to bat, but right now, it reflects that we are in a good place.”

Litton himself played a crucial role in the series, finishing as the top scorer in the rain-impacted third match, with an impressive 73 runs off 46 balls.

As Bangladesh prepares for the Asia Cup, Litton’s optimism is evident, as the team aims to build on its recent form and take on the challenges ahead in Group B.

While some, like former cricketer Aakash Chopra, have predicted that Bangladesh might exit at the group stage of the 2025 Asia Cup, Litton’s belief in the team’s preparation is unwavering.
